3. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, candidates must meet specific requirements regarding nationality, education, and age.

  • Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens, Tibetan refugees (settled before 1962), or certain persons of Indian origin intending to settle in India permanently.
  • Education: Must have passed the 12th Grade (Intermediate) from a recognized board or hold an equivalent qualification.
  • Age Limits (as of 01-07-2025):
    • General Male: 18 to 22 years (Born between 02-07-2003 and 01-07-2007).
    • General Female: 18 to 25 years (Born between 02-07-2000 and 01-07-2007).
    • Note: Age relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC/UP Government employees and Ex-Servicemen as per state rules.

4. Selection Process

The recruitment process is multi-staged, focusing on both academic knowledge and physical fitness.

Stage 1: Written Examination

  • Format: Objective-type, 300 marks, lasting 2 hours.
  • Subjects: General Knowledge, General Hindi, Numerical and Mental Ability, and Mental Aptitude/Reasoning.
  • Structure: Total of 150 questions; each correct answer earns 2 marks, with negative marking for incorrect answers.

Stage 2: Document Verification & PST

Candidates who clear the written exam are called for Document Verification and a Physical Standard Test (PST).
